Beginning with Him

A new year invites us to pause and take an honest look at our hearts. Not just at what we hope will change, but at what we are still carrying from seasons that stretched, wounded, or tested our faith.

Some enter this year with gratitude. Others with exhaustion. Others with prayers that feel unanswered. And yet, Christ meets us here, just as we are.

The Lord speaks with tenderness and authority:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing.”
Isaiah 43:18–19

This is not a call to ignore your story. It is a call to trust that God is greater than it. Through Christ, the past no longer has the power to define you. His mercy is new. His grace is sufficient. His plans are still unfolding.

A new thing in God often begins at the altar of surrender. When we lay down control, expectations, and fear, we make room for His will to take shape in us. Jesus does not rush the process. He transforms us from the inside out.

As this year begins, let your focus return to Christ. Before goals, before plans, before the noise, choose His presence. Abide in Him. Listen for His voice. Trust His leading, even when the path feels narrow or unclear.

You are not stepping into this year alone. The same Savior who carried you through last season walks with you now. Fix your eyes on Him, and allow hope to rise again.

God is doing a new thing, and it begins in Christ. Let this year be marked by deeper trust, quieter confidence, and a heart fully anchored in Him.
