Leading with Compassion
As we begin a new week, we are invited to consider not just what we do, but how we show up in the world and how we respond to the people God places in our path.
Scripture reminds us of who we already are and how we are called to live:
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.”
—Colossians 3:12
Before we are asked to put anything on, God reminds us of this truth: we are chosen, holy, and deeply loved. Compassion does not come from pressure or perfection. It flows from knowing we are secure in Him.
Compassion is choosing mercy when it would be easier to judge. It is offering patience when we feel rushed. It is responding with gentleness when we feel tired or misunderstood. It is remembering that everyone we encounter is carrying something, even when we cannot see it.
This week, let compassion be something you intentionally put on each day. Toward the people around you. Toward those who test your patience. And even toward yourself.
Take a moment to reflect:
Where is God inviting me to lead with kindness instead of control?
Who needs grace from me today?
How can I soften my heart and slow my reactions?
Prayer for the week:
“Lord, we come before You asking for a compassionate heart toward others. Teach us to see people the way You see them, with mercy, patience, and love. Help us respond with kindness instead of judgment, humility instead of pride, and gentleness instead of frustration. When we are tired or stretched, remind us that Your compassion flows through us. Soften our hearts, slow our reactions, and align us with Your Spirit. May we reflect Your love in our words, our actions, and our attitudes each day. Amen.”
As you move through this week, may you walk clothed in compassion, grounded in humility, and guided by the love of Christ.
You are holy. You are beloved. And you are never walking alone.
